15-09-2026

During a working trip to the Mangystau region, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nurlybek Nalibayev familiarized himself with the operations of strategically important production, energy, transport, logistics, and tourism facilities in the region.

Issues concerning the development of transport and logistics infrastructure were reviewed during a presentation on the activities of the Aktau Sea Commercial Port, Kuryk Port, and the Aktau International Container Hub. The annual production capacity of the Aktau port stands at 11.8 million tons, the capacity of Kuryk Port is 6 million tons, and the design capacity of the Aktau International Container Hub, the first stage of which was commissioned in March 2026, will reach 240 thousand twenty-foot equivalent containers per year.

The development of these facilities is aimed at increasing cargo transportation through the Caspian Sea and enhancing Kazakhstan's transit potential along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route.

During the visit, the main production indicators of the facilities, current volumes of cargo handling, and prospects for further increasing throughput capacity were presented.

Special attention was paid to the development of container transportation and the role of the Aktau port in ensuring transit cargo flows along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route.

The First Deputy Prime Minister was also presented with projects for the reconstruction and expansion of berths No. 3 and No. 12, dredging of the port waters, and the development of container infrastructure. The implementation of these projects is aimed at improving the efficiency of vessel and cargo processing, as well as creating additional potential for the growth of transit transportation.

Following the visit, priority areas of work for the further development of the port infrastructure and increasing its readiness to handle growing cargo flows were determined.
