In the East Kazakhstan Region, the Ridder and Shemonaikha railway stations have reopened following a large-scale reconstruction

In the East Kazakhstan Region, a large-scale reconstruction of the railway stations at the Ridder and Shemonaikha stations has been completed. Built in the last century, these buildings have undergone a comprehensive modernization for the first time. The works were carried out in accordance with instructions from the Head of State and the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan to develop transport infrastructure.

During the reconstruction, the load-bearing structures of the buildings were reinforced, and the roofs and engineering networks were replaced. The facades and interior spaces were renovated, passenger platforms were reconstructed, station square areas were landscaped, and new equipment and furniture were installed.Special attention was paid to passenger safety and comfort.

The stations are equipped with ramps for citizens with limited mobility, tactile paving for visually impaired passengers, and extra emergency exits in compliance with modern fire safety regulations.

The Shemonaikha station, built in 1936, serves two passenger trains running on Kazakhstani and Russian Federation routes. Following the reconstruction, the building's floor area is 229 square meters.

The Ridder station, built in 1938, serves four passenger trains on routes to Ust-Kamenogorsk and the Russian Federation.

After the reconstruction, the building's floor area spans 470 square meters.The upgraded stations meet modern standards for safety, accessibility, and service quality. The railway station modernization program continues across all regions of Kazakhstan.
