Development of the TITR discussed

The heads of JSC NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, CJSC Azerbaijan Railways, and JSC Georgian Railway held a meeting dedicated to the development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR). The parties discussed measures to enhance the corridor's competitiveness, eliminate infrastructure bottlenecks, and upgrade rolling stock. By the end of 2025, traffic volume on the route increased by 15%, reaching 42,000 TEUs. Particular attention was paid to digitalization and the integration of information systems to expedite cargo transit.

During the meeting, the General Meeting of Shareholders of the joint venture (JV) Middle Corridor Multimodal Ltd. was held. A new board of directors was approved, including Bauyrzhan Urynbassarov, Managing Director for Production Processes of JSC NC KTZ, and Darkhan Muratkhanov, Director of the Marketing Department of JSC NC KTZ. Rustem Sagiddinov was appointed General Director of the JV.

In addition, the participants discussed operational issues of the International Association TITR. The next meeting on route development is scheduled for April 20–24, 2026, in Astana. It will be held on the sidelines of the 40th meeting of the Conference of General Directors of OSJD Railways.

For reference: The joint venture MIDDLE CORRIDOR MULTIMODAL LTD was created on a parity basis with the railways of Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and Georgia and was registered with the AIFC in November 2024.
