Degelen railway station reconstruction completed in Abai region

27-08-2026

The facility has been upgraded as part of the country's railway station modernization program, implemented following the instructions of the Head of State.

The original station building, constructed in 1953, was completely demolished. A new, modern building was erected in its place. The station's area has increased threefold—to 324 square meters—allowing for expanded passenger areas and improved service conditions.

During the reconstruction, the building's structural frame was erected, and interior and exterior finishing works were completed using modern materials manufactured in Kazakhstan. External water supply and sewage networks were upgraded, and internal utility communications were replaced and modernized.

The project was financed through the internal funds of JSC "NC "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" with the support of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Transport, JSC "Samruk-Kazyna," and the Akimat of the Abai region.

Today, Degelen station serves eight passenger trains connecting the settlement with Semey, Astana, Beyneu, Mangistau, Almaty, Pavlodar, Karaganda, and Kandyagash stations.

The renovated station creates more comfortable and safe conditions for passengers and railway workers. The reconstruction has brought the facility into line with modern requirements and refreshed the appearance of the region's railway infrastructure.
