A continuous welded track condition monitoring system has been implemented in the Akmola region

The automated continuous welded track condition monitoring system (TCMS) has been implemented at the Main Network Directorate, a branch of JSC NC KTZ in the Akmola region. The system has been commissioned at the Zhana-Yesil, Kokshetau, Astana, and Atbasar track directorates.

The TCMS was developed by the Automation and Digitalization Directorate, a branch of JSC NC KTZ, and is designed to provide information support to track maintenance workers and automate the monitoring of the technical condition of continuous welded track, including monitoring thermal stress in the rail joints. 

The implementation of the system ensures centralized registration data for continuous welded track throughout the entire KTZ network, automated reporting, and simplifies the annual procedure for submitting certificates to the Track and Structures Department.

The use of the TCMS automated system improves train safety by promptly detecting temperature fluctuations and preventing track overshoots.

Completion of the TCMS automated system implementation on all mainline sections of the Mainline Network Directorate, a branch of JSC NC KTZ, is planned for 2026.
