Coal delivery by rail is proceeding according to plan

Since the start of the 2025-2026 heating season (May to January 19), more than 54.3 million tons of coal have been transported within the republic via the Kazakhstan Temir Zholy network, 2.6 million tons more than during the same period last heating season.
This includes 49 million tons of coal transported to combined heat and power plants (CHPs), 3.2 million tons more than last season. 5.3 million tons of coal were delivered by rail to the public utilities sector.
According to government agencies, the cumulative planned demand from May to January 19 is 5.4 million tons of solid fuel, of which 7.2 million tons have been procured, 34% more than planned. Coal operators have accumulated approximately 435,000 tons of coal intended for municipal and domestic needs at their warehouses.
To coordinate coal transportation at the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, meetings of the National Headquarters are held regularly with representatives of JSC NC KTZ, local executive bodies, and coal mining companies.
Overall, there are no issues with the provision of coal rolling stock and the fulfillment of contractual deliveries from either the akimats or the coal mines.
Coal transportation to energy companies and for the population of the Republic of Kazakhstan is under special control. The work of the KTZ operational headquarters is ongoing.
