The modernization of railway stations at the Aul and Belagash stations has been completed in the Abai region. The project was implemented as part of the directive from the Head of State and the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan to upgrade the country's transport infrastructure.
The technical opening ceremony was attended by Berik Uali, Akim of the Abai region, Zhanibek Taizhanov, Vice Minister of Transport, and Marat Iskaliyev, Managing Director of JSC NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy.
The railway stations of Aul and Belagash stations, built in 1929 and 1926 respectively, belong to Class III facilities and are designed to serve residents of local settlements and transit passengers. The area of the buildings is 236 sq.m. and 229 sq.m.
During the modernization, both stations received a modern architectural look utilizing Kazakhstani-made building materials. The facades and roofs of the buildings were updated, internal and external finishing was completed, and aluminum stained-glass structures with energy-saving double-glazed windows were installed. Engineering networks, including water supply, sewerage, heating, and power supply systems, were completely modernized.
The interior spaces were finished using modern non-combustible materials. The stations are equipped with Kazakhstani-made ventilation systems, fire alarms, air conditioners, new furniture, and equipment. Vandal-resistant seating has been installed for passengers.
Special attention was paid to ensuring accessibility for people with limited mobility. The facilities are equipped with ramps, tactile tiles are laid, navigation is organized, and comfortable conditions have been created for all categories of passengers.
As part of the project, passenger platforms were reconstructed and adjacent territories were landscaped. In addition, the buildings provide office space for station workers and freight ticket offices. Sanitary and living conditions of work have been improved and modern workplaces have been created.
As a result of the reconstruction, the stations of Aul and Belagash stations were brought into compliance with modern safety requirements, sanitary standards, and passenger service quality standards.
The ongoing modernization is aimed at improving the comfort and safety of passengers and enhancing the quality of transport services.
