5,000 children attended KTZ's festive event: Year-round care for the younger generation

01-06-2026

More than 5,000 children took part in a large-scale festive performance held on June 1 at the headquarters of NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy JSC to celebrate International Children's Day. The holiday events are just one part of KTZ's systemic social policy. Supporting employees' families, developing talents, and caring for children at stations and line enterprises are carried out by the company on an ongoing basis under the shared motto: "Every child matters, every station is close by!"

Motivating talented children in the regions is one of KTZ's top priorities. Special attention is given to children under 13 from large families (4 or more children) of workers in line and regional units. Young talents who became prize-winners and champions of national and international tournaments in sports, arts, and sciences received support this year as well. To honor the holiday, Talgat Aldybergenov, Chairman of the Management Board of KTZ, sent letters of appreciation to the railway worker parents and useful gifts to the children to help develop their skills in robotics, sports, and science.

In addition, the "Railway through the Eyes of Children" ("Temirzhol balalardyn kozimen") contest was held. On the eve of the holiday, the company announced the results of a large-scale creative essay and video competition among children aged 6 to 13. Participants shared their thoughts on railway safety, trains of the future, and the continuity of generations.

Dreams come true: how KTZ fulfills the wishes of young railway fans

KTZ's care extends beyond internal corporate programs. A clear example of this is the story of 6-year-old Anuar Absattarov, who lives near the "Nurly Zhol" station and watches trains arrive and depart every day with his grandmother. Despite his family not being connected to the industry, the boy studies locomotive design and railway signs on his own. In recognition of his genuine passion for railways, Talgat Aldybergenov presented the young expert with a gift, and the company organized a demonstration ride for Anuar inside a locomotive cab.

Additionally, KTZ - Freight Transportation LLP fulfilled the dream of 11-year-old Aktobe resident Amir Zhangaliyev, who is passionate about rail transport, studies locomotives on his own, and dreams of becoming a train driver. A personal tour of the locomotive depot was organized for the young guest, during which the boy visited production workshops, studied the maintenance process, spoke with professionals, and sat inside the cab of a real locomotive. Amir noted that this trip further strengthened his desire to dedicate his future career to the railway industry.

Such projects highlight that KTZ sees and values every child who is passionate about the railway.

Continuous care for employees' families is enshrined in the KTZ Collective Agreement and includes regular support measures and social guarantees. For instance, single parents raising children under 14 received assistance worth 6 MCI (Monthly Calculation Indices). On May 25, parents of school graduates were granted a paid day off.

The culmination of the festivities will be a grand holiday show at the KTZ building for 5,000 employees' children, held on June 1. Following this, on June 7, a major sports event will take place—a children's mini-football tournament organized at the national level for the first time, bringing together 10 teams and 100 young railway athletes. For KTZ, supporting children is not a one-time holiday event, but a long-term investment in the future.
