11 Locomotive depots receive new fleet

Since the beginning of 2026, KTZ's locomotive fleet has been expanded with 72 new traction units. The company has commissioned mainline diesel locomotives from Wabtec and CRRC, Alstom electric locomotives, and CRRC shunting diesel locomotives.

The modern locomotives have been deployed to operational locomotive depots in Astana, Kyzylorda, Karaganda, Atyrau, Mangistau, Pavlodar, Makat, Ekibastuz, Zhem, and Balkhash.

The fleet modernization has enhanced train traffic safety, upgraded rolling stock performance, and improved working conditions for locomotive crews. The new locomotives feature advanced microprocessor control systems, the "Bort"  system, video monitoring tools, and modern radio communication suites, ensuring high reliability and efficiency in transport operations.

Before commissioning, all units underwent comprehensive laboratory and technical testing.
