The volume of freight transportation on the KTZ network increased in 4 months of 2025

Freight transportation on the KTZ network increased by 4.5% in January-April 2025 and amounted to 85 million tons. Of this volume, 54.6 million tons were transported within the country, 30.4 million tons were exported, which is 12.7% more than the same period in 2024.

In the four months of 2025, 34 million tons of coal were transported, which is 1.1% more than the same period last year. Of this volume, 24 million tons were sent to Kazakhstani consumers. At the same time, coal exports increased by 22%, reaching 10 million tons.

The volume of grain transportation also showed significant growth, increasing by 54% and amounting to 4.7 million tons. Grain exports increased by 60%, reaching 3.7 million tons.

In addition, from January to April 2025, there was an increase in the transportation of other goods: oil cargo - by 7% (up to 6.6 million tons), ferrous metals - by 10.6% (up to 1.5 million tons), chemical fertilizers - by 20.8% (up to 1.6 million tons) and construction cargo - by 8% (up to 4.3 million tons).
