Vegetable oil and feed exports to China have increased 10-fold in five years
03-06-2025
Over the past five years, the volume of vegetable oils and high-protein feed shipments from Kazakhstan to China has increased 10-fold. In 2024, over 190 thousand tons of vegetable oil were shipped to China, and in 2025, growth to 207 thousand tons is projected. This was reported by Deputy Director of the branch of NC KTZ JSC - Integrated Planning Directorate Gani Yesenbayev within the framework of the IV International Conference FOC: FATS AND OILS CONFERENCE 2025.
Since the beginning of last year, NC KTZ JSC, together with the National Association of Oilseed Processors, has carried out large-scale work to coordinate transportation plans, ensure timely loading and develop a stable shipment schedule. Today, all logistics processes for the transportation of vegetable oil - from planning to delivery - are fully debugged.
One of the significant steps was the implementation of a pilot project for the transshipment of oil through a new terminal in the bonded area of the Alashankou station in accordance with the agreements reached with the government of the XUAR.
Since 2021, KTZ has been actively developing container transportation of vegetable oil in flexitanks. This logistics format will significantly increase export volumes due to reduced costs, faster loading and unloading operations and high reliability during transportation. Over three years, about 30 container trains with vegetable oils have been sent to China and other countries. Kazakhstan continues to strengthen its position in the largest market for oil and fat products.
