Transportation through the Dostyk-Alashankou junction increased by 6%

In the first 11 months of 2025, rail traffic through the Dostyk-Alashankou interstate junction increased by 6% compared to the same period last year, reaching 17.8 million tons. In carload terms, volumes reached 450,200 units (up 1%).

Positive trends are observed in both the transfer of freight to and from China:

• 209,700 cars were delivered (same as last year), or 12.9 million tons (up 4%);
• 241,000 railcars (+1%) or 4.8 million tons (+12%) were received.
   

Separately, an increase in export shipments was noted – 138,900 railcars (+6%) or 9.2 million tons (+10%) compared to the same period last year.

Significant increases were recorded for the following types of Kazakhstani exports via the Dostyk station to China:

• ore – 6.2 million tons (+20%);
• oil cargo – 322,800 tons (+35.6%);
• chemical cargo – 70,600 tons (+1%);
• compound feed – 522,400 tons (a threefold increase).
