Train driver prevents collision with horse herd in Atyrau region

On the Sagiz-Makat section of Atyrau region, a train driver prevented a collision with a herd of horses that had come out onto the tracks in conditions of a snowstorm and poor visibility.

The animals were freely walking near the railway and slowly crossing the rails, creating a risk of an accident. The driver gave a long sound signal and applied emergency braking. Track section workers drove the herd away from the tracks.

As a result of the incident, two passenger and three freight trains were delayed. KTZ reminds that stray cattle pose a serious danger to railway traffic and can lead to emergency situations.
