Six-party talks between representatives of railways of Kazakhstan, China, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Iran and Turkey were held

On May 12, 2025, in Tehran, a delegation of NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy JSC, led by the Deputy Chairman of the Management Board for Logistics, took part in a six-party meeting with the participation of Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development - Director General of Iranian Railways Dr. Jabbar Ali Zakeri, Director General of the State Corporation China Railways Mr. Sun Xude, as well as deputy heads of railway administrations of Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Turkey. 

The event became an important step in the development of multilateral cooperation to form an effective transport corridor China - Kazakhstan - Uzbekistan - Turkmenistan - Iran - Türkiye / Europe. A clear confirmation of the demand for this route was the increase in container traffic in the China-Iran direction via Kazakhstan by 2.6 times in January-April 2025 compared to the same period last year.

During the meeting, an agreement was reached on joint actions to intensify container traffic on this route. The parties confirmed their readiness to provide comprehensive support for the promotion of the corridor in the international transportation market.

The parties also approved competitive tariff conditions and agreed on key parameters for organizing train traffic, including maintaining the approved total delivery time along the entire route.
