Railwaymen of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan discussed increasing freight traffic volumes

A trilateral working meeting of representatives of the railway administrations of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan was held in Kazakhstan to discuss increasing freight traffic volumes and optimizing processes at the interstate connection points (ICPs) Oasis (Tajikistan) and Saryagash (Uzbekistan).
The event was attended by delegations headed by Yerbol Tusupov, Deputy General Director for Operations of KTZ - Freight Transportation LLP, Abduvali Kodirov, Head of the Transportation Organization Department of Uzbekistan Temir Yollari JSC, and Radzhabmurad Odinayev, Head of the Transportation Service of Rohi Ohani Tojikiston State Unitary Enterprise.
The parties noted the positive results of transportation activities for 2024, in particular, the volume of cargo transportation between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan amounted to 11.5 million tons. The average daily transfer of trains through the Saryagash MGSP in the first four months of 2025 amounted to 26 trains. It was also noted that the share of container transportation in the direction of China-Central Asia increased by 104% compared to the same period last year, which is equivalent to 144 container trains.
The meeting focused on the need to ensure timely receipt and removal of goods, increasing the share of container transportation.
The negotiations were held in a friendly and constructive atmosphere, following the meeting a protocol was signed.
