Over 7.4 million tons of new harvest grain transported by rail

In February 2025, over 1.3 million tons of grain were loaded on the KTZ network, which is 49% more than in the same period in 2024. Domestic transportation amounted to over 282 thousand tons, an increase of 37%. Grain exports exceeded 1 million tons, which is 53% more than last year.

Grain exports showed significant growth: to Tajikistan they increased by 39%, to Turkmenistan - by 99%, to Afghanistan - by 26%, and to Kyrgyzstan - by 4 times. Through the ports of Aktau and Kuryk, exports to Iran increased 6 times. 

In the first half of the marketing year (from September 2024 to February 2025), the loading of new crop grain via the KTZ network amounted to 7.4 million tons, with an increase of 47%. Grain transportation in the republic increased by 30%, reaching 1.6 million tons. Over 5.8 million tons of grain were exported by rail, which is 53% more than last year.

Grain exports to Central Asian countries increased by 33%, amounting to 3.2 million tons, and to Afghanistan increased by 36%, reaching 248 thousand tons.
