Over 220 million tons of cargo were transported by rail in 10 months

From January to October of this year, cargo handling on the network of JSC NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy increased by 4% compared to the same period last year, reaching 221.4 million tons. More than 143.5 million tons were transported by rail within the country, a 3% increase compared to last year. Cargo exports increased by 6.1%, reaching 78.3 million tons.

During the reporting period, coal handling exceeded 85.7 million tons, an increase of 3.2%, including 59.5 million tons within the country, and 26.4 million tons in exports (an increase of 9%). For the first ten months of 2025, the total volume of grain transportation amounted to 11.2 million tons, a 38% increase compared to last year. Of this, 8.45 million tons were exported (an increase of 39%), while domestic shipments increased by 34%.

Over the 10 months, the loading of ferrous metals also increased by 8.2% (to 4 million tons) and chemical fertilizers by 18.7% (to 3.9 million tons).
