Over 1,400 railway workers of Kazakhstan were awarded for their professional holiday

This year, the professional holiday of railway workers received the official status of an independent holiday. Now, every year, on the first Sunday of August, Kazakhstan will celebrate the Day of Railway Workers. This decision reflects the recognition of the importance of the profession, respect for its history and the significant contribution of railway workers to the development of Kazakhstan.

This year, over 1,400 employees of NC KTZ JSC were awarded various awards. More than 100 people were awarded state awards. The highest degree of distinction was presented personally by the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in Akorda, noting the key role of the railway in the development of the country.

NC KTZ JSC continues to implement large-scale infrastructure projects aimed at increasing the transport and transit potential. As part of the formation of the Trans-Kazakhstan railway corridor, 1,700 kilometers of new lines are being laid. In 2025, the construction of second tracks on the Dostyk-Moiynty section and the Almaty bypass will be completed ahead of schedule. In parallel, modernization and the introduction of automatic blocking are underway on seven sections with a total length of about 3,000 km. Also, track repair work is carried out annually on 1,400 km of the railway network and the rolling stock is actively updated.

At the ceremonial meeting in the company's central office in Astana, where industry veterans and employees from all regional divisions were invited, Chairman of the Management Board of NC KTZ JSC Talgat Aldybergenov thanked everyone for their dedication to the profession and selfless work. He noted that the successful implementation of important state and industry tasks became possible thanks to the daily work of a multi-thousand-strong team.

Today, KTZ employs over 110 thousand people. The company systematically works to create comfortable working conditions. Particular attention is paid to the development of the mentoring institute for young employees and the formation of a personnel reserve from among promising employees.

The celebration traditionally takes place in all regional divisions of the company and is accompanied by ceremonial meetings, summing up the results, honoring veterans and the best representatives of the industry.
