Over 140 km of railway will be renewed in the Aktobe region

This year, as part of the planned summer track works, the Aktobe branch of the main network will renew more than 140 km of railway with all types of repairs.

A major overhaul, with a complete replacement of the rail and sleeper grid and ballast layer, will cover about 73 km of the railway track on the sections of Aiteke bi-Uytas, Zhinishke-Aktobe, Karashokat - Akkespe and others.

Intensive medium repairs will be carried out on the marshalling and receiving and departure tracks at the Aktobe-2 and Shalkar stations.

To improve reliability, increase the service life of the structure, and reduce operating costs, railway workers will replace 106 sets of turnouts with new ones with reinforced concrete beams.

Also planned are continuous replacement of rail gauge, track and other types of work on sections over 70 km long.

In addition, this year, railway workers of the Aktobe branch of the main network will build 133.7 km of fencing to prevent animals from going onto the railway track.
