Over 1 million tons of grain were exported by rail in September

In September 2025, over 1 million tons of grain were exported by rail, a 19% increase compared to the same period last year. Total grain shipments on the Kazakhstan Temir Zholy network for the month exceeded 1.3 million tons (an increase of 28% compared to September 2024), of which 318,000 tons were shipped domestically (an increase of 71%).

647,000 tons were shipped to Central Asian countries (an increase of 44%), including to Uzbekistan (an increase of 50%), to Turkmenistan (an increase of 73%), and to Kyrgyzstan (an increase of more than 4-fold).
Exports to Black Sea ports increased by 26%, and to the Baltic ports by 11-fold.

In the first nine months of 2025, grain shipments on the Kazakhstan Temir Zholy network totaled 9.6 million tons (an increase of 40%), including 2.3 million tons domestically (an increase of 33%). Exports totaled 7.3 million tons (+43%), including 4.1 million tons (+34%) to Central Asia, a 40% increase to Afghanistan, a 3-fold increase through the ports of Aktau and Kuryk, and a 14-fold increase to the Baltic countries.
