The National Carrier will receive new RWS Wagon Series 45 cars

25-11-2025

Since the beginning of 2025, the National Carrier's fleet has received 107 modern passenger cars, including compartment, reserved seat, and staff cars manufactured by the RWS Wagon plant (ZIKSTO, LLP) in Petropavlovsk. A total of 237 RWS Wagon cars were delivered to the National Carrier between 2024 and 2025. The delivery was made jointly with the Industrial Development Fund (IDF).

The new carriages operate on the Aktobe-Atyrau, Pavlodar-Turkestan, Pavlodar-Almaty, Kyzylorda-Semey, Almaty-Saratov, Almaty-Oskemen, Astana-Kokshetau, Astana-Kurort-Borovoe, and Karagandy-Astana routes. Passengers who have already used the new carriages note their high quality and comfort.

The delivery of 60 new "45" series passenger carriages to the National Carrier is planned for the end of this year. These new-generation carriages have already been successfully certified for compliance with the technical regulations "On the Safety of Railway Rolling Stock."

The new "45" series carriages feature a number of modern solutions designed with safety, energy efficiency, and environmental friendliness in mind. The interior is made of wear-resistant materials and features a microclimate control system, air disinfection, a convertible berth, USB and 220V power outlets, Wi-Fi, and climate control. Closed-loop composting toilets, LED lighting, and modern thermal insulation maintain a stable temperature and reduce energy consumption.

The carriages are equipped with video surveillance and fire suppression systems, as well as a central air conditioning system, ensuring comfort all year round. For passenger convenience, illuminated exits, a scrolling text display, and an audio announcement system are included. The two-car coupling and single-vestibule design allows for single-crew maintenance, streamlining operations and reducing costs.

The delivery of the "45" series carriages will be an important step in the ongoing, large-scale rolling stock renewal program. Thanks to cooperation with the domestic manufacturer RWS Wagon and the support of the Industrial Development Fund, the National Carrier receives high-quality, modern equipment that fully meets passenger expectations and the demands of the times.
