Over 4 million passengers were carried by JSC Passenger Transportation trains during the summer of 2025. The most popular routes were Astana, Almaty, Shymkent, Semey, Aktobe, Turkestan, and Alakol.
During the summer season, 13 additional routes were launched. Passengers traveling to the shores of Lake Alakol were served by trains running on the Astana-Dostyk, Almaty-Dostyk, Semey-Shar-Dostyk, Oskemen-Aktogay-Dostyk, Kyzylorda-Dostyk, and Pavlodar-Dostyk routes.
The launch of the new Burabay Express electric train No. 888/887 on the Astana-Borovoye resort route was a significant event for the development of the country's tourism potential and passenger transportation. The train consists of six carriages and three service classes: first, comfort plus, and standard. For the first time in Kazakhstan, the train was equipped with high-speed Starlink internet, providing passengers with a stable connection along the entire route.
At the same time, systematic work is underway to upgrade the fleet. In August of this year, new trains, including 30 modern carriages, were delivered to the international Almaty-Saratov route. This improved comfort and service quality, meeting the expectations of passengers who had been awaiting the upgrade on this international route.
Incidentally, since the beginning of 2025, including the summer period, the National Carrier's trains have also carried 352,000 passengers with disabilities and over 1.2 million children, confirming the important social role of rail transport.
