National carrier launches new carriages on Almaty-Saratov route

The fleet of JSC Passenger Transportation has been replenished with 30 new passenger carriages manufactured at the plant in Petropavlovsk. Modern carriages have started running on route No. 7/8 "Almaty-2 - Saratov", providing passengers with comfort and improved transportation conditions. The first train with new carriages departed today from the Almaty railway station.
"In his speech, the head of state emphasized the importance of upgrading passenger carriages as one of the key areas of transport infrastructure development. As part of this instruction, our company is actively working on upgrading the carriage fleet, which is a strategic priority. Today, the updated train is being launched on the route "Almaty - Saratov". These changes will be a significant stage in the development of transport communications between the regions," said Anuar Akhmetzhanov, General Director of JSC Passenger Transportation, at the presentation of the new carriages.
Each train consists of 10 carriages: 5 compartment carriages and 5 reserved seat carriages, designed to carry more than 400 passengers in one direction. The train runs on even days: departure from Almaty station at 20:00, arrival at Saratov station - every other day at 10:10 Russian time. The return trip from Saratov - at 14:55, arrival at Almaty station - every other day at 06:54 Kazakhstan time.
The carriages are built taking into account modern world requirements for design, safety, reliability and comfort. The compartments are equipped with ergonomic sleeping berths, individual LED lamps, USB ports and power outlets.
For passengers with disabilities, there are special compartments and places for strollers, as well as a conductor call button. The service life of the carriages is up to 40 years.
Over the past two years, JSC Passenger Transportation purchased 318 cars from ZIKSTO LLC, of which 241 have already been put into operation, including 30 cars launched on route No. 7/8 Almaty-2 - Saratov. New cars also run on the routes Aktobe - Atyrau, Pavlodar - Turkestan, Kyzylorda - Semey, Almaty - Pavlodar. From 2025 to 2027, a phased delivery of another 350 cars is planned. The first batch of 100 cars will arrive this year.
By 2030, as part of the modernization program, the fleet is planned to be completely updated.
