National Carrier Launches New Carriages on Almaty-Novosibirsk Route

The fleet of JSC Passenger Transportation has been expanded with 20 new passenger cars manufactured at the plant in Petropavlovsk. These modern cars have begun operating on route No. 301/302 between Almaty and Novosibirsk, providing passengers with comfort and improved travel conditions. The first train carrying the new cars departed today from Almaty Station.

"Following the instructions of the Head of State, we are actively working to update and modernize our passenger car fleet, which is a strategic priority for our company. Today, the updated train is being launched on the Almaty-Novosibirsk route. These changes will be a significant step in the development of international transport links," noted Diyar Nusipkozhanov, CEO of JSC Passenger Transportation, at the presentation of the new cars. 

Each train consists of 10 carriages: 5 compartment carriages and 5 reserved seat carriages, designed to carry over 400 passengers in one direction. The train operates on even-numbered days, departing Almaty station at 2:50 PM and arriving at Novosibirsk station at 8:58 AM (Russian time). The return journey from Novosibirsk departs at 2:55 PM and arrives at Almaty station at 7:45 AM (Kazakhstan time).

The carriages are designed to meet modern international design, safety, reliability, and comfort standards. The compartments are equipped with ergonomic berths, individual LED lights, USB ports, and power outlets. Passengers with disabilities are provided with special compartments and spaces for wheelchairs, as well as a conductor call button. The carriages have a service life of up to 40 years. Over the past two years, JSC Passenger Transportation has purchased 237 RWS Wagon (ZIKSTO) railcars, including 20 launched on route No. 301/302 "Almaty - Novosibirsk." The new railcars also operate on the following routes: Aktobe - Atyrau, Pavlodar - Turkestan, Pavlodar - Almaty, Kyzylorda - Semey, Almaty - Saratov, Almaty - Oskemen, Astana - Kokshetau, Astana - Borovoye Resort, and Karagandy - Astana.

Between 2025 and 2026, the National Carrier will gradually receive an additional 100 new model "45" railcars manufactured at the RWS Wagon (ZIKSTO) plant.
By 2030, the National Carrier's railcar fleet will be 100% renewed.
