National carrier announces changes of Talgo train routes

Passenger Transportation JSC informs passengers about changes in the routes of Talgo trains No. 4/3 and No. 10/9 running between Astana and Almaty. From April 2025, these trains will run on a direct route without calling at Shu station.

Shu station is a junction and requires a locomotive change. This decision was made in connection with the optimization of logistics and reduction of the total travel time between Astana and Almaty. In addition, passenger traffic from Shu station is low.

Passengers planning to board or disembark at Shu station can use alternative routes - socially significant trains formed from standard carriages, as well as the following Talgo trains:
 

Trains between Astana and Shu:

• No. 72/71 "Astana - Shymkent"
• No. 86/85 "Astana - Shymkent"
 

Trains between Shu and Almaty:

• No. 1/2 "Tashkent - Almaty"
• No. 11/12 "Shymkent - Almaty"
• No. 25/26 "Shymkent - Almaty"
• No. 27/28 "Oral - Almaty"
