Modern shunting locomotives from CRRC arrived at Astana depot

A ceremony to accept modern shunting locomotives delivered under a framework agreement between NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy JSC and China Railway Rolling Stock Corporation (CRRC) was held at the Astana Operational Locomotive Depot. The agreement for the supply of 100 shunting locomotives was signed on October 17, 2023, during the state visit of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to the People's Republic of China.

The honorable right to cut the ribbon was given to the respected trein drivers Nurbek Sembiyev and Serkebay Maykenov, who have worked at the depot for many years and this year are starting to receive industry benefits paid by the employer until reaching retirement age.

According to the train drivers, the new locomotives are distinguished by a high level of comfort. The cabin is equipped with an air conditioner, a refrigerator and a stove for heating food, which makes working conditions much more comfortable.
