The Astana Locomotive Depot held a ceremonial opening of its locomotive maintenance facility (LMF) after a major overhaul.
The LMF building, built in 1975, has been completely renovated. The total area of the facility is 2,888 square meters. The renovations significantly improved working conditions, increased industrial safety, and increased the efficiency of rolling stock maintenance.
The renovated building houses depot duty officers, employee showers, instructor rooms, and offices for speedometer tape interpreters.
The facility services approximately 1,100 locomotives monthly. It employs 110 people, including administrative and management personnel, maintenance workers, and mechanics.
The overhaul allowed for the modernization of engineering systems, upgrade of technological equipment, and the creation of comfortable conditions for personnel. As a result, the quality of locomotive maintenance and the reliability of the transportation process have been improved.
