04-09-2025

The overhaul of Astana-1 Station is being carried out in stages and covers both engineering systems and internal infrastructure. The station complex includes buildings built in 1990 and 1961. Overhauls have not been carried out here for many years. The total area of the complex is 11,174 sq. m. The station is equipped with 3 elevators, 10 escalators and has 3 receiving and departure tracks.

The first stage involves the renovation of the premises of the 1990 building. To ensure uninterrupted passenger service, the necessary conditions have been created in the 1961 building.

The project involves more than 100 workers and 5 units of special equipment. Particular attention is paid to the modernization of engineering networks and the ventilation system.

The modernization includes repairs to the roof, facade, stairwells, passenger platforms with replacement of lighting, repair and replacement of utility systems, interior finishing work, and repair of sanitary facilities. Accessibility for people with disabilities will be provided, a modern schedule information board, intercoms will be installed, waiting areas, furniture for mother-and-child rooms and passengers with limited mobility will be updated, and a number of other improvements will be implemented. It is planned to install silent escalators with motion sensors at the station, and modern LED clocks on the facade of the building.

The work is being carried out in accordance with the approved schedule. After the completion of the reconstruction, the buildings of the station complex will become modern, safe and comfortable for passengers. The second stage will include modernization of the building built in 1961.

According to the results of the first half of 2025, Astana-1 station serves 26 pairs of trains daily, and the passenger flow is over 10 thousand people.

KTZ is implementing a large-scale program to upgrade station infrastructure: capital repairs cover more than 100 stations across the country. All work is financed by the company's own funds and is aimed at improving the quality of passenger service. Large-scale repair work is being carried out for the first time in decades.
