KTZ WWII Veterans

There are currently eight veterans of the Great Patriotic War registered with the KTZ group of companies. Four of them are long-livers who have crossed the 100-year mark.

Among them is Grigory Petrovich Stepenko, who celebrated his centenary in Karaganda on April 10. In February, Kalmen Muratov from Shymkent and Boris Sergeevich Sholubay from Uralsk turned 101. In March, Arseniy Andreevich Shchudlyak, a veteran of the Akmola branch, celebrated his 100th birthday.

Veterans Alexandra Tikhonovna Saratovtseva from Aktobe and Vasily Ivanovich Grigorash from Pavlodar are 99 years old. Vasily Antonovich Serdyukov from Astana and Andrey Yakovlevich Sharov from Kostanay are 98 years old.

After the war, the veterans continued to serve the country on the railway, devoting decades to it. Their work became a solid foundation for the development of the industry and the state.

On Victory Day, the company will provide financial assistance to WWII veterans in the amount of 50 MCI (196,600 tenge).

The company also has 3 participants in the Leningrad siege, 5 concentration camp prisoners and about 1,000 home front workers on its books.

The railway workers remember the feat of their heroes: they visit them at home, congratulate them on memorable dates. Volunteers provide assistance with household chores, surrounding the veterans with care and attention.
