KTZ upgrades equipment for recovery trains

Last year, 4 T-35.01 ЯБЛ bulldozers were purchased for recovery trains for Pavlodar, Kurort-Borovoye, Makat and Beineu stations. The fleet was also replenished with a modern railway crane with a telescopic boom with a lifting capacity of up to 150 tons.

KTZ has 37 recovery trains that are the first to arrive to eliminate the consequences of derailments and railway accidents. The speed with which traffic is restored on sections depends on their coordinated work.

These trains are also used to perform large-scale economic and construction work, such as laying and replacing turnouts and other tasks.

The recovery trains are equipped with all the necessary equipment. They include platforms with tracked vehicles, overhead cranes. There are also cars with an autonomous power plant, spotlights, jacks, cables and slings.

In 2024, recovery trains left 75 times to eliminate the consequences of rolling stock derailments, while 195 cars and 17 locomotives were lifted.

Cranes were used to perform maintenance work 602 times (for laying turnouts, loading / unloading turnouts and sleepers), tractors  197 times (for snow removal, water control and other maintenance work).
