KTZ updates track repair equipment

The track equipment fleet of the Main Line Directorate of JSC NC KTZ has been replenished with a ballast cleaning machine.

The high-performance equipment is designed for mechanized cleaning of the ballast layer of the railway track. It provides comprehensive cleaning, including cutting out the ballast base and laying clean ballast, as well as removing debris in a special rolling stock.

The ballast cleaning machine is a high-tech complex equipped with diagnostic systems for units and assemblies, video monitoring and control of working bodies, remote control of the chutes and a lifting and straightening device. The machine consists of two sections.

The new machine is already being used to repair the track in the Karaganda region.

According to experts, one section of the machine can clean up to 1000 meters of track per hour. The operating speed is up to 750 m/h, which is 2 times higher than that of analogues.

The use of this technique significantly reduces the overall repair time and significantly reduces the cost of the work.
