KTZ strengthens safety measures: attention to children near the railway

With the end of summer holidays and the beginning of the new school year, NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy JSC pays special attention to the safety of children near the railway infrastructure. 

The railway is a high-risk zone. It is during this period, when schoolchildren return to their usual route, that the risk of accidents increases. In this regard, KTZ traditionally strengthens preventive measures and launches explanatory campaigns throughout the country.

What KTZ does:

- Reduced train speed in areas with a high risk of people walking on the railway tracks.
- Scheduled work is underway to build a fence around the railway tracks.
- Technical specifications have been issued to local executive bodies for the construction of pedestrian bridges.
- Information meetings are held in schools, where children are told about the rules of conduct on the railway.
- Additional warning signs are installed near pedestrian crossings and populated areas.
- In cooperation with the police and local akimats, control is increased in areas with increased traffic.
- Memos, banners and videos are distributed about the inadmissibility of being on the tracks.

The key task is to form an understanding among children and their parents that the railway is not a place for games, and any violation of the rules can cost lives.

KTZ calls on all citizens - especially parents and teachers - to show responsibility, explain the rules of conduct to children and not leave them unattended near the tracks. Safety is the number one priority.
