KTZ Opens a New Infrastructure Design and Engineering Bureau

18.12.2025

The "Mainline Network Directorate" branch of JSC NC "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" (KTZ) has opened a new Infrastructure Design and Engineering Bureau. The establishment of the bureau is a significant step in strengthening the company's engineering capabilities and modernizing the country's railway network.

The bureau will perform a full range of work, including design, construction supervision, and implementation of infrastructure projects, as well as conducting research, development, and engineering activities. The new unit brings together designers, engineers, analysts, and specialists in the implementation of modern technologies. It will develop design solutions, conduct facility surveys, perform engineering calculations, and create innovative technical solutions for infrastructure.

The bureau plans to participate in key railway network development projects, including system modernization, track overhaul, facility reconstruction, development of new lines, and preparation of design and estimate documentation for major trunk lines.

The opening of the bureau will serve as a foundation for the systematic development of the national railway infrastructure, the introduction of innovations, and the enhancement of the safety and reliability of the mainline network.

The bureau was established based on a project group whose projects have successfully passed state expert reviews, confirming the high level of engineering solutions and documentation quality.

International memorandums have been signed with the BMI International holding and Anhalt University. This collaboration will expand opportunities for professional training, internships, and the exchange of engineering knowledge, as well as enable the implementation of advanced international practices in project execution.

The company is creating all necessary conditions for the bureau's development. These include competitive compensation for employees, procurement of modern high-tech equipment, and expanded cooperation with leading transport institutes and educational institutions.

The bureau's work will involve both experienced designers and young specialists — graduates of universities and colleges. This approach will combine professional experience with new engineering ideas, ensuring high project quality and building a sustainable talent pool.
