KTZ Modernizes Its Electricity Supply Telemetry System
17-10-2025
As part of its Electricity Supply Development Program, KTZ is implementing the "Modernization of Dispatch Circle Telemetry Devices" project.
In 2025, construction and installation work was completed at the Akmola branch of KTZ NC JSC, the backbone network, at the Kokshetau power supply section. The outdated Lisna telemetry system was replaced with the modern AMT system.
The new system is a multi-level software and hardware suite that manages power supply facilities, collects, and transmits data to the dispatch center. The implementation of AMT improves reliability and safety, enables prompt switching, rapid identification of faulty sections, and safe repairs.
By 2029, similar work will be completed on the Akadyr, Sary-Shagan, Astana, Shu, and Zhambyl power supply lines.
As a result, telemetry control of dispatch circles will cover 2,448 of the 4,237 km of electrified sections, improving train safety, power supply reliability, and reducing labor and material costs.
