KTZ management met with the Governor of Sichuan Province

The Chairman of the Management Board of NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy JSC Talgat Aldybergenov met with the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Governor of Sichuan Province Shi Xiaolin. During the talks, the parties discussed the possibility of creating joint dry ports in Chengdu and on the territory of Kazakhstan, and also confirmed their mutual interest in further expanding their partnership in the field of transport and logistics cooperation.

The project is being implemented on the instructions of the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, given following the visit of the Chairman of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping in June of this year.

"The meeting confirms the mutual readiness of the parties to implement joint infrastructure initiatives and increase the volume of transportation between Kazakhstan and China," T. Aldybergenov noted.

Special attention was paid to the development of agricultural logistics: issues of construction of specialized grain terminals and warehouse infrastructure to increase the export of Kazakhstani grain were discussed. Kazakhstan annually supplies about 8-9 million tons of grain crops to foreign markets, and the development of joint logistics projects will significantly expand exports to China and the countries of Southeast Asia.

NC KTZ JSC already has successful experience of interaction with Chinese partners, including projects in Lianyungang, Khorgos and Xi'an, which have become important stages in the formation of sustainable cooperation.
