20-02-2025
As part of preparations for the spring flood season, a commission chaired by Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of KTZ Talgat Aldybergenov inspected the Almaty-Shu-Taraz railway section. The main goal of the on-site inspection was to assess the readiness of the infrastructure for possible floods and the effectiveness of flood prevention measures.
During the inspection, it was noted that track sections and specialized bridge crews are actively preparing for floods, forming anti-washout trains. These trains include the necessary equipment and materials for prompt response to possible flood threats. Of the 598 artificial structures in operation, 82% have already been cleared of snow; no threats to railway lines during the passage of flood waters have been identified.
Particular attention was paid to the Shu - Turksib section. Here, at the 3646 km of the Turksib-Koragatty section, the commission held a meeting with 50 employees of the emergency response team of the Track Machine Station of the Agadyr station. The team is rehabilitating the Turksib station and the adjacent Turksib-Koragatty section.
During the past period, significant work was carried out on the section to update the infrastructure: 14 turnouts on a reinforced concrete base were replaced, 2274 sleepers were replaced with reinforced concrete ones, and 1500 meters of continuous welded track and 530 meters of rails were laid. Fastenings were also replaced along 6.4 km of the odd track of the Koragatty-Turksib section.
During the conversation with the track fitters, an increase in wages from January 1, 2025 was emphasized, which was an important step in improving the working conditions of workers.
In addition, as part of the trip, a meeting was held with the head of the Department of Emergency Situations of the Zhambyl region, Arman Tokanov, at which the readiness of the region's structures for the spring flood season was discussed.
