KTZ held a meeting with representatives of the Japanese company RIKEN KOGYO

A management meeting with Yukihiro Shibao, President of the Japanese company RIKEN KOGYO, was held at NC Kazakhstan Temir ZholyJSC . During the meeting, the results of joint research conducted on the Koktuma – RZD16 section from September 2024 to March 2025, as well as work plans for 2025–2026, were discussed.

In September 2025, KTZ constructed a 100-meter-long, two-row temporary structure for in-situ observations of snow drift volume, snow density, and wind parameters. On October 20 of this year, RIKEN KOGYO plans to install permanent meteorological equipment for data collection and analysis.

Based on the obtained results, japanese specialists will conduct wind tunnel tests to develop optimal engineering solutions for snow and wind protection. The studies are scheduled to be completed in March 2026, and the final materials and technical proposals will be submitted in May 2026.

The parties noted the importance of the project for increasing the capacity of the railway infrastructure and ensuring the reliability of the transportation process.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to explore the signing of a bilateral Memorandum of Cooperation during the upcoming official visit of the Head of State of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Japan.
