KTZ has increased the number of assistant drivers due to the growth of freight traffic

In 2024, 626 assistant drivers were hired at the operational locomotive depots of KTZ-Freight Transportation LLC, and another 519 specialists were hired in the first half of 2025. The increase in the number of personnel is due to the increase in freight traffic volumes and the implementation of economic work on the construction of new sections. For example, the second tracks of the Dostyk-Moiynty section, where 120 assistant drivers were hired.

The largest number of assistant drivers are employed in such key regions as the Almaty, Karaganda and Kostanay branches.

The Almaty branch remains the leader in the number of employees hired: 96 people in 2024, and 112 in the first half of 2025.

There has also been an increase in the following regions:

Karaganda — 85 and 98 people, respectively,
Kostanay — 61 and 66 people,
Shymkent — 17 and 27 people,
Semeyskoye — 21 and 35 people,
Aktobe — 50 and 64 people,
Atyrau — 20 and 31 people,
Mangistau — 10 and 19 people,
Kyzylorda — 15 people in 2024,
Pavlodar — 115 and 96 people,
Akmola — 56 and 39 people,
Zhambyl — 45 people in both periods.

After gaining practical experience, assistant drivers undergo training and are transferred to the position of driver.
