KTZ, GR, and Kazakhstani Exporters Discussed New Opportunities

A roundtable discussion was held at NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy JSC with representatives of JSC Georgian Railway (GR), Georgian terminals, ports (APM Terminals, Pace Georgia), and Kazakhstani shippers. The meeting was held in the format of an open and constructive dialogue aimed at developing cooperation and improving the efficiency of transportation to Georgia.

The main topics of discussion were the organization of export shipments, freight flow forecasting, and building sustainable and systemic feedback between railway administrations and shippers.

The roundtable was attended by Kazakhstan's largest exporters shipping oil and petroleum products, ferrous and non-ferrous metals, grain, and other products to this destination. The speakers emphasized that shipments to Georgia occupy a special place in Kazakhstan's logistics system, including along the Trans-Caucasian Transit Route.

Domestic shippers highly appreciated the open dialogue format, emphasizing that this platform provided a real opportunity to directly address pressing questions to representatives of KTZ, GR, and Georgian terminals. Participants emphasized the importance of openness and prompt feedback, thanking the organizers for the constructive discussions and their willingness to jointly address pressing issues. According to cargo owners, such meetings are a powerful tool for building trust, improving logistics processes, and enhancing the competitiveness of Kazakhstan's exports.

Reference: In the first nine months of this year, the volume of shipments sent and received between Kazakhstan and Georgia amounted to approximately 2.85 million tons, of which over 2.1 million tons were exported through Georgia. These figures confirm the continued interest of Kazakhstani shippers in routes passing through Georgia. There has also been an 80-fold increase in the transportation of Kazakh grain (from 3 to 240 thousand tons), and a 10% increase in non-ferrous metals.
