KTZ Design and Experimental Center Expands Production and Product Range
29-10-2025
KTZ's Design and Experimental Center (DEC) is increasing production volumes by 10-15% annually. The facility supplies equipment to key railway industry departments—track departments, rail welding plants, signaling, communications, and power supply services.
The center employs 62 people, 50 of whom are production personnel. The 1,864 square meter production facility includes seven workshops: forging, turning, mechanical assembly, woodworking, electrical, and others. It houses 48 metalworking and metal-cutting machines.
The DEC specializes in the manufacture and repair of equipment for track machines, rail-car platforms, hopper-dispenser mechanisms, and snow removal equipment. The company also repairs small-scale mechanization, including jacks, spreaders, straighteners, and gantry cranes. The center fulfills orders for the manufacture of track tools, custom technical equipment, tooling, and auxiliary equipment, and provides technical support for the installation and testing of new devices.
Based on the 2022 results, the DEC was awarded a first-degree diploma for high production performance.

The Design and Experimental Center was established in 1982 in Pavlodar on the premises of a wagon depot as the Road Experimental Workshops of the Akmola Division of the Railway. In 1998, the company was reorganized into the DEC, and in 2001 it became part of the Design and Technology Bureau, and in 2004, part of the Pavlodar Track Department. Initially, the center repaired ТЭД-30 and ТЭД-40jacks, but over time, it significantly expanded the range and complexity of its products.
