KTZ congratulated the veteran railway worker on Victory Day

On May 9, Kazakhstan Temir Zholy congratulated 101-year-old participant of the Great Patriotic War, railway worker Kalmen Muratov, who lives at the Badam station, on Victory Day. Today, he is the last surviving veteran in the Ordabasy district of the Turkestan region.

The meeting took place in a warm, cozy home atmosphere, surrounded by the family and friends of the respected aksakal. Kalmen Muratov greeted the guests in his ceremonial suit, hung with orders and medals for military and labor merits.

On the holiday, Kalmen Muratovich was awarded another well-deserved medal "1-darezheli Temirzhol danky" and memorable gifts for many years of conscientious work and enormous contribution to the development of the railway industry. The veteran was expressed sincere words of gratitude and respect, wished good health, long life and peace of mind.

Kalmen Muratovich was drafted into the army on August 1, 1942, when he was 18 years old. He took part in fierce battles in the Kalinin region, fought to liberate villages and cities from the German invaders as part of the Belorussian Front. In February 1944, in the battle near Vitebsk, he was seriously wounded, due to which he was unable to continue his combat path. Returning from the war to his native village, Kalmen Muratovich worked as a foreman on a collective farm, and then for many years until his retirement - on the railway. He raised 6 sons and two daughters. Today he has 35 grandchildren and 72 great-grandchildren.
