KTZ completed testing of the video analytics system at crossings
11-03-2025
As the analysis shows, most often accidents at crossings occur due to the fault of vehicle drivers. Every year, more and more attention is paid to solving this problem at NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy JSC. The company conducted operational tests of the automated video analytics system for railway crossings ASVAP-M - at the crossing at 721 km of the Zhana-Karaganda - Maykuduk section.
The automated video analytics system ASVAP-M is designed to automatically warn the services of NC KTZ JSC about the presence of an obstacle at a railway crossing and transmit information to the relevant organizations in the region for taking effective measures to improve the situation at railway crossings. ASVAP-M provides continuous assessment of the crossing zone condition at the intersection of railway tracks with a road. The system records video of events in the controlled crossing zone, video of events in the crossing duty officer's working area, including indoor recording. It monitors and notifies the crossing duty officer about the crossing condition in case of an emergency.
The operational tests were conducted in two stages. The first stage was to check the operability control and train the neural network. The ASVAP-M operability test consisted of visually checking the presence of an image from video cameras on the crossing duty officer's display, as well as the relevance of this image (the picture did not freeze). The second stage was to check the system operability control, including the video analytics functionality.
Based on the test results, it was noted that the video analytics system was recommended for use and implementation on the main railway network of NC KTZ JSC.
