With the support of JSC Samruk-Kazyna, NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy JSC (KTZ) signed an agreement to attract a syndicated loan with Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank and Deutsche Bank in the amount of up to 480 million Swiss francs for a period of 3 years.
The attraction of financing is carried out within the framework of the implementation of the instructions of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, given on January 28, 2025, on the accelerated development of the Trans-Kazakhstan Railway Corridor. The head of state noted the importance of intensifying the construction of the Moiynty - Kyzylzhar line, modernizing congested sections of infrastructure and expanding the country's transit potential.
The syndicated loan funds will be used to advance key projects of the Trans-Kazakhstan Railway Corridor, including the construction of the Moiynty-Kyzylzhar section, the modernization of congested sections of the railway network, as well as to refinance previously attracted liabilities of NC KTZ JSC . The development of the Trans-Kazakhstan Railway Corridor is of strategic importance for strengthening Kazakhstan's position as a key transit hub between China, Central Asia and Europe. The implementation of infrastructure projects within the corridor will reduce cargo delivery times, reduce logistics costs, create new jobs in the regions and diversify foreign trade routes, thereby increasing the sustainability of the national economy and the transit attractiveness of the country.
