KTZ and RZD continue to develop cooperation in freight transportation

In the first ten months of this year, Kazakhstani coal shipments through Russian ports totaled 9.6 million tons, an increase of 2.5 million tons (+34%) compared to the same period in 2024. The main destinations were the Baltic Sea ports, which accounted for 6.2 million tons (+18%), and the Azov-Black Sea basin ports, which accounted for 3.4 million tons (+83%).
In the first ten months of this year, grain exports from Kazakhstan via Russia increased fivefold compared to the same period in 2024, reaching 1.9 million tons. 500,000 tons were exported through Russian ports, 20% higher than last year's level.
The structure of grain exports includes grain, lentils, and industrial seeds. The main recipient countries are Italy, Belgium, Turkey, Algeria, and others.
Container transportation by rail between Kazakhstan and Russia is also showing steady growth. During the reporting period, 650,000 TEUs were transported, a 13% increase compared to the same period last year.
Transportation along the China-Russia-China route has increased 15-fold over the past six years, from 33.4 to 512,000 TEUs, and in the first ten months of this year, it has increased by another 9% compared to the same period in 2024.
NC KTZ JSC and JSC Russian Railways continue their joint work to develop transport corridors, increase the capacity of border crossings, implement digital services, and create favorable conditions for carriers. These joint efforts are aimed at strengthening the transit potential of the two countries and ensuring stable freight flows.
