KTZ and Citibank: Investing in the Infrastructure of the Future

Talgat Aldybergenov, Chairman of the Management Board of NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy JSC, met with Jane Fraser, Chief Executive Officer of Citigroup, in New York City (USA). 

In addition, representatives of the KTZ delegation in the US participated in a meeting with Saule Zhakayeva, Chairman of the Management Board of JSC Citibank Kazakhstan; Sumanta Panigrahi, Managing Director of Export and Agency Finance for the Americas at Citi; and Michael Peterson, Director of Export and Agency Finance at Citi.

During the meetings, the parties discussed financing of KTZ's investment program and prospects for expanding cooperation, including within the framework of the signed agreement with Wabtec.

The focus was on opportunities to attract long-term financing for the company's strategic projects aimed at modernizing railway infrastructure, improving operational efficiency, and implementing innovative technologies.

During the negotiations, representatives of KTZ and Citi noted the high potential for collaboration and expressed their readiness to further develop their partnership.

Kazakhstan Temir Zholy National Company JSC continues to actively implement a large-scale investment program that ensures sustainable growth, integration into the international transport system, and strengthening Kazakhstan's position as a key transit hub in Eurasia.
