Kazakhstan Temir Zholy and the Astana akimat discussed the capital's transportation system development strategy

A working meeting between Astana Akim Zhenis Kassymbek and Chairman of the Management Board of JSC NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy Talgat Aldybergenov took place in Astana on December 6. The meeting focused on developing a comprehensive strategy for the development of the capital's transportation system.

The parties discussed current issues, including the modernization of road and transport infrastructure, the integration of rail service into the urban environment, and the implementation of joint projects aimed at improving the transportation and logistics system within the capital, improving the quality of life for residents, and developing urban mobility.

It was noted that Astana is currently a key transportation hub for the country, serving as a hub for major rail, road, and air routes connecting all regions of Kazakhstan and beyond.

A separate priority project to build a railway bypass around the city, attracting private investment, was discussed.

The city plays a strategic role in managing logistics flows and coordinating passenger and freight transportation, strengthening the capital's status as a center of attraction for investment, development, and international cooperation.

Particular attention was paid to improving areas adjacent to transport hubs, improving logistics, and increasing the capacity of infrastructure facilities.

During the dialogue, an agreement was reached to further coordinate efforts to create an efficient and sustainable transport system that meets the needs of modern Astana.
