Journalists were shown grain export logistics and told about the reasons for the congestion at the Uzbek border

A press tour dedicated to the transportation of Kazakh grain for export was held in Shymkent. During the event, journalists were shown the grain logistics route to the state border with Uzbekistan.

The journalists visited the Shengeldy, Zhylga, Darbaza, and Saryagash stations, where significant congestion is observed.

At Shengeldy station, 300 railcars are parked on 14 receiving and departure tracks, hindering traffic. At the next station, Zhylga, a backlog of 250 railcars has also been recorded.

At Darbaza station, the situation is similar: 200 railcars are on the tracks awaiting transfer to the adjacent railway administration, reducing the station's shunting capacity.

In total, more than 11,000 railcars are waiting in this direction, with some trains having been idle for five to six days. The backlog of grain cargo exceeds 5,000 railcars. Railway workers note that, at the current rate of delivery, the volume of this backlog ensures the network's capacity for two to three weeks.

The main cause of the congestion is the late arrival of trains from the Uzbek Railways heading towards Saryagash station. This leads to disruptions to the schedule and the formation of queues of railcars, forcing KTZ to limit the volume of agricultural exports to Central

Asian countries. To alleviate the situation, KTZ is providing locomotives to the Uzbek side for the import of trains. Press tour participants were shown the technological capabilities of the Saryagash station, aimed at expediting cargo processing.
