A jeep blocked the path of a passenger train on the Medeu-Zhetysu section

On March 12 at 15:46, the driver of a passenger train traveling along the Almaty-2 - Pavlodar route was forced to apply emergency braking due to a Toyota Land Cruiser that drove onto the railroad tracks in an unauthorized place and got stuck between the rails.

With the help of passersby, railroad workers quickly towed the SUV to a safe place, after which the driver fled the scene. As a result of the incident, the train was delayed for 16 minutes. The incident was reported to the linear police department, an investigation is underway.

In January-February 2025, 4 road traffic accidents (RTA) occurred at railway crossings due to violations of traffic rules by drivers of motor vehicles, which created a threat to the safety of passengers and railway workers.

In 2024, 26 such accidents were recorded at railway crossings. KTZ calls on all road users to strictly comply with safety rules on the railway.
