Information on loading table salt at Iletsk Station
06-12-2025
Salt shipments from Iletsk-1 Station to the Republic of Kazakhstan are proceeding as usual. Over the first 11 months of this year, 15.4 thousand tons (232 railcars) of salt have been transported to Kazakhstan.
For December, a plan for 540 covered railcars of table salt was submitted from Iletsk Station, of which only 22 railcars were destined for stations in the Republic of Kazakhstan (Maykudyk, Aktobe-2, Almaty-1, Oral, Kokshetau-1, and Kyzylsai). KTZ has approved all 22 railcars destined for Kazakhstan.
A further reduction in volumes occurred at the initiative of the shipper. On the Maikudyk, Aktobe-2, and Almaty-1 routes, out of the initial 6 wagons requested, the shipper has submitted waivers for the transportation of 2 wagons per station.
Therefore, the decrease in deliveries is due to the shipper's refusal to comply with previously submitted plans, and not to KTZ's actions or a shortage of wagons.
There is no shortage of rolling stock to fulfill the agreed-upon orders.
Thirty-nine boxcars and 60 gondola cars are being loaded on the company's sidings, and 200 wagons are awaiting delivery at the station. Three boxcars owned by Kazakhstani owners are approaching, destined for loading salt for subsequent shipment to a station in the Republic of Kazakhstan. Given the current volume of orders, this ensures that part of the remaining plan for the next 24 hours will be fulfilled.
To support domestic railcar operators and ensure the sustainable operation of the rail network, Kazakhstani-owned railcars are prioritized for the transportation of domestic goods, including socially significant ones such as table salt. This approach prevents the infrastructure from being overloaded by idle fleets of other railway administrations and protects the operating conditions of Kazakhstani carriers.
At the same time, JSC NC KTZ provides transportation of both domestic and imported salt, subject to the submission of requests and the readiness of the cargo by shippers.
