Information about a private carrier's train

Passenger Transportation JSC reports that information is being circulated on several social media platforms regarding the poor condition of the carriages of passenger train No. 43/44 on the Kostanay-Almaty route. The publications claim that this train belongs to Passenger Transportation JSC, a subsidiary of NC KTZ JSC. We inform you that passenger train No. 43/44 does not belong to Passenger Transportation JSC and has no connection to NC KTZ JSC.

The carriages of this train are operated and maintained by Turksib Astana LLP, a private carrier operating independently of the national carrier.

The activities of private operators are regulated by the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Therefore, all inquiries regarding the quality of work of private passenger carriers should be directed to the appropriate government agency.

We note that, in addition to JSC Passenger Transportation, there are currently 14 private operators operating in the passenger rail transportation market in Kazakhstan.
